KRING DEMETRIO is a self-taught illustrator based in Cebu, Philippines.
Originally from Cagayan de Oro City, her young imagination was formed through play and wonder in a folk museum curated by her great-grand-uncle which stored her father’s archaeological finds and exhibited surrealist, historical, and folkloric paintings by local artists which continue to inform her work. Deeply embedded in her drawings are etchings made from empty ballpoint pens and wooden skewers; usually depicting lines and other decorative images.
In 2018, she won the Lampara Books Illustrator Prize from the Philippines. She has published works with Metaphorosis Publishing, Strange Horizons Magazine, Smith Street Books, Chaosium Inc., Magpie Games, Lampara Books Publishing, The New Naratif, Spirits of the Philippine Archipelago etc.
Her work has also been featured in Imagine FX, Graphika Manila and Spectrum Fantastic Art.
